Care Pages

Care pages are personal websites that can help families communicate with friends and loved ones during times of illnes and injury. They are a place where a family can place messages and news in a journal and share photos, and where friends and family can provide support and advice by placing messages

We have three families with care pages (for four children). Please visit the pages to share in their stories.

Hayden Noble HaydenNoble

Hayden's care pages were created to document his spinal surgery. Hayden suffers from mucolipidosis type III. One of his secondary conditions is spinal curvature, which has had to be treated surgically.

Young Brooke has Sandhoff disease, a rare form of Tay–Sachs disease. Sadly, Brooke passed away in March, but her care pages are still available and should provide good guidance for families in similar situations.

Starting your own care pages

Care pages are a great way to keep people informed about your ongoing situation and to allow them to connect with you.

Two services that we know of are CaringBridge and CarePages.

To start a CaringBridge website:

  • Visit the CaringBridge home page and click on the Start Here button.
  • Fill out the information about you and your loved one.
  • Choose a template for your site.
  • Decide whether access to your site will be open to all or only to people who have registered.
  • You are now ready to build your site. Fill in the My Story section, add photos to the Photos section, add updates to the journal and add links if you wish. Your friends and family can also write messages on the Guestbook.
  • Let us know, so we can add your page here.

To start a CarePages website:

  • Visit the CarePages home page and click on the Create button.
  • You will then need to regsiter (or log in if you are already registered).
  • Enter information about the site: who is it for, what time zone do you want (US time zones only available), your healthcare provider.
  • Give your CarePages site a name.
  • You are now ready to build your site. Fill in the About Me section, add photos to the Photo Gallery and add Updates. Your friends and family can also write messages on the Message Board.
  • Let us know, so we can add your page here.
